The VAC 11-111-104 is a one input to four output composite video distribution amplifier with a single ended input (75 Ohm termination). This unit has unity gain between the input and all four outputs. Unused outputs do not need to be terminated with 75 Ohms. All of the video connections are BNC connectors. This unit is intended to be used with NTSC or PAL video signals
The common application of this unit is to generate four copies of a single composite video signal so several downstream devices can be driven without degradation of the video quality. Because this is an active device (requires power) signal quality as well as signal level are maintained while generating the multiple copies of the original signal. The high bandwidth of this unit insures the input video signal is not modified due to bandwidth roll off (DC - 200 MHz bandwidth at -3db level).
This unit has a very basic linear power supply with a 12 VAC input voltage requirement. A 12 VAC wall transformer (120 VAC input) is supplied with each unit. By using the wall transformer the power system provides ground isolation between the input power and the video circuits. The power supply uses a half wave rectifier design to develop the internal positive and negative voltage rails for the active operational amplifiers.
