Whirlwind's Medusa Series Snakes have been the touring standard worldwide for decades. They're still made in the good ole' USA at their Rochester, NY factory. The MS-12-4-XL-050 is a 12 input snake with 4 XLR returns with a 50 foot run and a 3 foot fanout.
Standard Medusa features include:
• Heavy duty powder coated steel stagebox with Whirlwind connectors and integrated handle.
• Whirlwind by Belden NEC CM rated multipair cable, heavy duty, flexible, multipair cable. Each pair contains two twisted 24GA 7x32 polyethylene insulated conductors with 100% foil shield and 24GA drain wire.
• Fanouts with multiple layers of rugged heat shrink at the most critical points.
• Fanouts feature Whirlwind connectors with engraved numbers and letters.
• Genuine Kellems wire mesh hanger to support the fanout at the board.
• Genuine Kellems strain relief and grip with internal cable clamp.
The cable is Whirlwind multipair cable, heavy duty, flexible, NEC CM rated multipair cable. Each pair contains two twisted 24GA, 7X32 polyethylene insulated conductors with 100% foil shield and 24GA drain wire. Jacket is blue PVC. The Stage Box is made with a steel, 14GA base, 16GA top w/ handle powder coat and a Kellems strain relief/grip. Input connectors on the stagebox are Whirlwind WC3F female XLRs and the stagebox returns are Whirlwind WC3M male XLRs. The Fanout is made with a cable hanger, Clear tubing provided for each group of 8 channels - slides down over fan to help keep lines tangle-free, Heavy duty shrink tubing applied to each channel, double shrunk at connectors. The Fanout Input connectors are Whirlwind WI3M male XLRs, laser engraved with numbers and the fanout return connectors are Whirlwind WI3F male XLRs.
