HD-3521-RX-53-ST - Overview

The Ideal Fiber Link for POV Cameras Positioned Around Stadiums, Arenas and Race Tracks.

The HD-3521 is the ideal fiber link for POV cameras positioned around stadiums, arenas, and race tracks. In addition, the HD-3521 is ready to capture the city skyline and highway activity when HD cameras are used to produce broadcast-grade video. Both the standard 1.5Gb high definition video signal for 720P & 1080i production and the 3G HD signal for 1080P makes this link able to handle today's cameras and ready for tomorrow.

The input SDI signal is equalized for cable compensation and re-clocked with a loop-through for local monitoring or camera output verification. Back in the control room, the cost of SDI DA's is averted with the dual HDSDI outputs on the HD-3521 receiver. Stand-alone or 1RU rack mount panels offer system designers flexibility in the implementation.

The two-channel, two-way data system handles camera control and PTZ signals for the robotic head. Installers can select RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 data formats. Each of the POV cameras can be equipped with an "On-Air" Red Tally light as the HD-3521 supports this signal as well.

The HD3500 supports all popular standards for digital video transport such as SMPTE 259M-C, SMPTE 292M, and SMPTE 424, working at 270 Mbps, 1.495 Gbps, and 2.970 Gbps respectively. In addition, the HD-SDI interface also will transport signals compatible with DVB/ASI, and SMPTE 297M interfaces at the defined rates. The units include a digital reclocked DA and repeater for the SMPTE SDI standards mentioned above. For other standards and rates, the signal is automatically or manually passed thru without reclocking. For the SDI/HD-SDI input, the units include automatic cable equalization based on the data rate detected.

Separate from the SMPTE video transport, the HD-3500 also transports 4 analog audio channels with maximum configurable levels of 4dBu, 10dBu, 16dBu, or 28 dBu; 2 digital AES pairs up to 96Khz that cross convert with the 4 analog channels; and a bidirectional stereo channel for intercom applications with maximum level of 4dBu. The system also supports 4 GPIO bidirectional channels with open collector inputs capability and relay contact for the outputs; 1 bidirectional tally IO with open collector input and contact relay output; and 3 bidirectional serial data channels compatible with RS232 or RS422 transport up to 3Mbps.

The HD-3521 system has everything from the 3500 system minus the audio and intercom functions. For customers looking for the capability to remotely control a distant camera with or without a PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) head, this is the system for you. The system transports full resolution, uncompressed 3G HDTV from the camera and has two data paths for camera control, PTZ control and other accessories such as rain wipers. Use the GPIO's or Tally to trigger an integrated tally light at the camera or for any of a number of other convenient purposes. Why pay for audio and intercom if you don't need it? The HD-3521 is THE cost-effective way to operate your remote camera whether on the roof or across town.
